An exhibition of paintings with the title ‘The Galaxy of Colours’ of the young painter Valeria Duca from Chisinau will be opened for public in the period between the 4th of February and the 8th of March, at the Museum of Folk Costume, in the Palace of Parliament, Bucharest.
The exhibition presents 52 works, all created in oil on canvas.
Valeria Duca is a student at the ‘Prometeu’ Lyceum in Chisinau, a successful athlete in taekwondo and an artist, her exhibitions being praised at home and abroad.
Her debut in painting brought her the second place at a Municipal Contest for students in 2007. A year later, her first exhibition opens at the ‘Constantin Brancusi’ Gallery.
Her works are in public collections in Italy (Regina Pacis Foundation), in the National Museum of History and Archaeology in Chisinau and in private collections in Lithuania, Romania and SUA.
Dr Constantin Ciobanu, researcher at the Institute of Art History ‘George Oprescu’ of the Romanian Academy, opines that her works ‘talk about maturity and understanding of the philosophical fundamentals of the artistic discourse and a stoic temerity in front of the relentless destiny.’
